Before we dive into how a blog can help grow your business we should probably learn what a blog is and what it isn't. Luckily, this will not depend on what your definition of "is" is.
Blog - A Web site that consists of semi-regular updates called "posts" or articles written by the site's owner or other authors assigned by the owner. The posts (or articles) are typically displayed in reverse chronological order (most recent posts first) and each article is usually categorized. People who visit your blog (or your site) and read your posts will be able to comment on what you've written. You then begin engaging people, telling your story and taking your business to the next level. (Blogs can do lots of other things too, but we'll get to that later. One step at a time there, pardner.)
The best way to demonstrate a blog is...to demonstrate a blog.
Here a are couple examples:
Micro Persuasion
Blog Maverick
Shattered Sun
Worldwide Nope
As you can see, each site consists mainly of posts from the site's author on subjects they care about, whether that be public relations and business, personal musings, soccer or, literally any other topic on earth. If somebody is doing it, thinking about doing it or learning about doing it then someone is blogging about it.
The potential for a blog to positively impact the bottom line of your business is huge. I am currently inviting interested new-to-this-whole-blogging-thing business owners to contact me (just leave a comment in this post), and I will set up a preview of what their blog could look like and how it would work...for free. There is absolutely no obligation, and since seeing is believing I feel that when you see your blog you'll understand its power to build your business.
What are you waiting for? Leave a comment letting me know who you are and let's get YOUR blog started. No obligations. No hassles.
